An Apprentice of Jiro Ono Opens a Restaurant in NYC

If you have not seen "Jiro Dreams of Sushi," it's a documentary about 87-year old master sushi chef in Japan, who is considered to be the world's best. Daisuke Nakazawa was Jiro Ono's senior apprentice when the movie was shot. Nakazawa recently made his way to US, first landing at Sushi Restaurant in Portland, OR. Now, he has moved to NYC to open his new restaurant.

Just like Jiro's in Tokyo, Sushi Nakazawa has 10-seat at the sushi bar and some dining tables featuring only omakase - chef's recommendation nigiri.

The restaurant has already captured many media attention and received many good to excellent reviews. (continue reading)
